Panic Away Review
Before we start – this is NOT one of the fake, low-quality Panic Away reviews that are floating around online. My girlfriend suffered from serious panic attacks for years, dating from before I met her – I actually own the system and even though she really only uses the One Move system, it cut her [...]
How To Overcome Anxiety: Revamp These 4 Aspects Of Your Life
Does stress make you feel feeble, nauseated, or even worse? If so, you’re far from alone – people from all walks of life and social stations have anxiety – either in the form of sharp anxiety attacks, or a nagging terror that doesn’t ever seem to go away. It’s normal to feel stressed out about life sometimes – but when that stress morphs into an all consuming animal, it’s time to create some fresh approaches to dealing with anxiety.
Hopefully, this is a good starter guide to an anxiety free lifestyle.
Don’t Get Anxious About Anxiety
Here’s a good example: you’ve been working at an office all month (which is stressful enough as it is), and at the end of the month, you’ve neglected your body and packed on ten extra pounds. Now you’re not just worried about your job, you’re worried about your weight. You’re worried that stress from your job will kill you. Then you’re worried about being called “Lil’ Super Size” at the office…
Stop! Anxiety is like a virus that feeds on itself to become even stronger. It’s best to sit down and figure out what your biggest addressable problem is and focus on solving it instead of going on in every possible direction.
Listen To Your Body
One of the reasons anxiety can be so painful is that it shoots up out of nowhere… there are a few seconds of dread and then it feels like your entire body is on fire. That’s why it’s so important to be in tune with yourself – it’s the surest way of stopping a panic attack when it starts. Get familiar with your feelings before the accelerated pace of breathing, the acid in your stomach, the tightness in your chest. They’re different for everybody.
Just as importantly, learn to tolerate those physical symptoms. Remember tip one?
Use A One To Ten Scale
When you’re dealing with anxiety, it’s always best to think long term. It’s hard to “think” your way out of the shooting dread of a panic attack, but reasoning things out can help you deal with long term anxiety. Ask yourself “what’s the worst thing that could happen” and rate its long term impact on your life from a scale of 1-10.
Ask yourself how you would adjust and take charge of your life even if this dreaded event were to happen. In most cases, you’ll realize that you’re much more adaptable than you think, and you’re getting wound up over an inconvenience.
Next, ask yourself how likely it is that this event will even take place. There are some things we can’t avoid (we’ll talk about that in a bit), but some people get stressed out about things that might happen, and life is so full of maybes that having this mental attitude will really damage our lives.
Reorganize Your Life
There are some stressful situations that are nearly impossible to avoid – when we have a bad relationship, a poisonous friendship, or a job we can’t stand, the pressure and dread can be a serious problem. You owe it to yourself to get out of that situation. It’s easier said than done, but there are few things better than the euphoria and relief that come with getting out of a grinder of anxiety. If you don’t like your job, at least start applying for a new one.
Don’t like your relationship? Break it off – and if you think being single is stressful, use it as motivation to improve yourself and start talking to people.
Anxiety is rarely “easy” to overcome, but it can done with a focused effort to improve your situation and a strong mental outlook.
